Seydisehir Aluminum Plant Renovation

Aluminum plants were established in Seydisehir district, located on the west parts of Konya province, for utilization of bauxite ore deposits in Seydisehir and production of raw aluminum.

Eti Aluminum Seydisehir Plant, which is the only integrated aluminum plant producing aluminum from ore in our country, perpetually makes investments to be able to adapt to technological conditions of the age and to acquire competitive power in the international markets, making considerable contributions to the economy of the country, and especially of the region.

The foundry unit, feasibility studies of which were started in 2006, was commissioned with a state-of-the-art technology in 2008. Soon later, coal mine sites in Bayavsar town were acquired, and the coal & natural gas-powered steam boiler was commissioned, producing technological steam. Enhanced maintenance and modernization activities at our plants were also completed. Investments in aluminum electrolysis plant, for which feasibility studies started in 2012, are currently ongoing. It is targeted that, upon completion of the investment, the rate of purity in the product will be 99.9%.
