The new terminal inaugurated in 2009 received “European Steel Design Award” given by the European Convention for Constructional Steelwork (ECCS). The project was also granted an award of Merit at Structural Engineers Association of California.

At over 380,000 m² on plan, the terminal is the largest seismically isolated structure built to date.
