Norom – Neuroscience and Neurotechnology Center of Excellence

The “NOROM Project”, which led to the establishment of the center and supported by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Strategy and Budget Directorate, was included in the Investment Program with the Presidential “Approval” dated 21.11.2019 and is still ongoing.

NOROM is the first and pioneering joint University project and was established with the Higher Education Council of Türkiye (YÖK) law amendment dated April 17, 2020, which allows three universities to establish a joint center.

On June 19, 2020, the “Regulation on Joint Application and Research Centers in Higher Education Institutions” was issued, and on December 28, 2020 NOROM joint project was published in the official gazette and established.

The mission of the center is to share the information and technology that are produced by interdisciplinary neuroscience research and the vision is to be a center that is a pioneer in neuroscience and serves to the community. The goals can be summarized as follows;

• Neural network, artificial intelligence and machine-human interaction models that are based on the synergistic work of different brain cells and/or structures
• Holistic approaches that focus on brain-body interaction in mind functions and disorders
• Big data processing, system and disease modeling
• Biomarkers for the diseases that cause loss of brain function
• New drug targets and neurotechnological products towards treatment.

Prota provided services in all branches within the scope of the facility project preliminary, final and detail stages. Within the scope of the project, Prota’s services include;

• Reinforced concrete, prefabricated and steel design
• Fire evacuation and fighting engineering design
• Electrical and ICT engineering design
• Mechanical engineering design
• Landscape and infrastructure design
• BoQ and technical specification preparation services
