This project underwent two distinct design phases. Initially, a preliminary design was meticulously crafted in accordance with the construction tender requirements. Subsequently, a detailed design phase was undertaken to refine and finalize the construction plans.
The design studies of the line built by Mersin Metropolitan Municipality were carried out with the Building Information Modeling (BIM) system. Prota undertook the preparation of feasibility, preliminary, final, construction and detail projects in all disciplines. The planned capacity of the line is calculated as 262,000 passengers per day for 2023.
The construction work of the line continues and the line is aimed to be put into service in 2028.
The project was entirely designed by Prota engineers and architects; It made it to the finals among 260 projects in the AEC Excellence Awards 2020 Infrastructure Projects category, organized by Autodesk and considered the world’s most prestigious digital design competition, and was among the last three projects.
