METU Indoor Olympic Swimming Pool

The Olympic Pool located in the main campus of Middle East Technical University; a state university founded in 1956. he campus area is 7 km from the city center of Ankara.  The main part of the campus has dormitory capacity for approximately 6000 students who benefit from a shopping area, banks, post office and many eating places.

Also, a wide variety of sports facilities, including gymnasiums, tennis courts, basketball and football fields, jogging trails, Olympic-size indoor swimming pool, and an outdoor swimming pool are available on METU campus.

Architectural and structural designs have been performed by PROTA in 1996. Pool dish base and surrounding installation galleries have been designed. System has been divided into two parts by a dilatation and dish base plaque is divided by expansion joints. The closed area is 9000 sq. meters.

Prota performed steel and reinforced concrete structural design of the building, infrastructural system design and BoQ and technical specification preparation services.
