Pulkovo Airport is an international airport serving St. Petersburg, Russia, located 23 km south of the city center. It serves as a hub for Rossiya Airlines and a focus city for Smartavia. In 2022, it was the 29th busiest airport in Europe. Prota was part of the design team for the St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport project. Located 20 km from downtown, the airport serves St. Petersburg, the center of Russian culture and history, serving 14 million passengers annually and ranking as the 4th largest airport in Russia.
The terminal building covers 147,000 sq. meters, with a 400,000 sqm airport dock in front of it. The airport features 88 check-in counters, 110 passport booths, 7 baggage carousels, 110 parking stands, 17 gates, and 17 escalators. Designed by Grimshaw Architects, the new airport building reflects the designs and style of Saint Petersburg.
The project was completed in 2014. Within the scope of the project, Prota provided engineering design services of the new terminal building covering 141,000 sq. meters, a business center covering 11,600 sq. meters, a four-star hotel covering 11,600 sq. meters and indoor and outdoor parking lots covering more than 40,000 sq. meters.
